The_finished_box

This is from a piece of fruit cherry that a friend gave me. It has some awesome color and figure. The knots are filled with a coffee-CA mix. Unfortunately the lid cracked, being endgrain with the pith in the center, so I filled it with black dyed epoxy. The finial is rosewood. 11" tall, 4.5" wide, with Deft semigloss lacquer.

Absolutely beautiful. I love the simplicity. Cherry is on that short list of woods that I just dearly love, both to turn and for its appearance. This beautiful box will age and darken and become even more wonderful as the years pass by. Great work and inspiration Curt. 8-)
