This is poplar, or aspen if you prefer. It's about 8 1/2 inches tall and has been beaded, dyed, waxed and lacquered.

Hey Bruce,

I saw these on WOW as well. Very nice. If I may ask a couple of questions.
1) Which beading tool either purchased or homemade did you use to keep from tearing out the grain especially the poplar?
2) How did you sand each bead and maintain the bead form so well?
