same bowl messed with brightness a bit

Same bowl as before but I adjusted the brioghtness a bit with the photo editor I have. Is this any better?

That is better, Phil. I may need to keep an eye peeled as I go by the Pecan orchards, for some downed trees/limbs.

It is indeed better. I'm wondering what lighting you are using. I'm still getting a blue haze over the whole thing. May simply be a matter of not enough light.

Got that tear-out around back did you? Wink

Yes this is a different view. The lighting was natural light but not in the direct sun, I set up a sheet (cream colored) on my table saw with a cardboard box in back. I gues that is where the blueish tint comes from.

Gil That is where I got most of my pecan, however this piece came from AZ. be advised that real nice fresh cut pecan is very light cream colored. only after sitting outside exposed to various weather conditons and even sitting on the ground does it get like this. I am gonna post a piece I did as an experiment to my last challenge piece to show you want pecan looks like when it is freshly cut.

I have seen Pecan cut down around here, and I was a light creamy color. Have not turned any yet, guess I will snag a log or two the next I see down.
