Looks very nicely done, Freddie, and I know nothing about segmenting. Do you use veneer sheets between the pieces, and what type of adhesive must you use to KNOW it will stay together?
Gil,I used pieces I sanded down thin like veneer and made into a flat ring held together by masking tape on one side and glued to the bowl as I built it up.The glue was elmer's pro bond. The key to longevity for laminated work is grain orentation.Alot of fancy glues out there but nothihg has the stregenth of carpenter glue.I know some people use Tightbond and it is very good also. I have used tightbond 2,a semi waterproof glue but it always has glue creep. It remains a little more flexable but you can feel that after a couple years.Just keep the grain running around the circumfrance and it should last a very long time.
