This bowl was turned from Red Mallee Burl. The outer spines were mostly turned away, leaving subtle hints of their existence. Lots of swirls and eyes. I was able to capture just the right amount of sapwood to show the color contrast. Approximate size is 9.0" diameter and 2.0" deep. Critiques are welcomed. www.perfectwoodworks.com
Nice Job. I like this one as well. Just curious does it have foot or flat or round bottom? What finish did you use on this? I like the shape and design.
I love to turn it but it can beat you up pretty bad. Very hard and grows in Australia. It's footed and I'll send another pic soon. Finished with 4 coats of BLO and buffed with steel wool and Renaissance wax.
