This bowl was turned from part of the tree that fell onto the roof of my shop during Hurricane Katrina(2005). The wood was allowed to naturally spalt and exhibits some of the finest grain I have ever encountered with Oak. Lots of bleached areas, spalting lines, quilting, and color striations. Voids were filled with brass shavings for accent. Approximate size is 9.5" diameter and 2.5" deep. Critiques are welcomed. www.perfectwoodworks.com
I like it Leo, I got a huge oak that is covered with spaltting and if I can get a piece to turn out like this one... I'll be VERY happy, this has some great color and you have truly brought it out!!!Wizzy
