I would tend to agree with Chris. A bit of a curve in either direction would aid the eye on this one. Also, I need to ask about the foot. Is there a reason that you left it? I think that it would be visually more appealing without it, just narrow down to the bottom on the outside. If time permits, I'll play with it and see what the photo editor can do with it.
I think you are right about the foot.Just one of those things I'm learning and exactly why I've came to this forum. What I do for the finish is this.1st.sand smooth.2nd oil with watco, formbys or my mixture of anything in the shop,3rd I take a bar of tripoli and hold it against the spinning piece with wet oil on it and after it is covered and mixed with some oil I get a paper towel and hold it against the wood. As it starts drying the oil,be careful and don't get it too hot, I increase the speed of the lathe. Now the oil is cooked into the wood, use some white rough,I think it is for buffing stainless, but it really brings up the gloss.Finish with wax and buff.
I like the foot just the way it is, but I also agree with the others that maybe the bowl could have used a little bit of curve. But despite what everyone's saying, it's still a very nice bowl.
