Could be ANYTHING Rev. Not even sure what continent its from. LOL. I got it (I think) in a box of misc cutoffs from West Penn. Our club goes there once a year. Some buddies and I bought a huge box of random cutoffs and such and split them up. For $20 bucks I got a box of wood. I could identify less than half. If you think its mahogany, then that's what it is.
Nice lines, great form and pretty finish, I believe your niece is going to love it. The mahogany I have doesn't have the lines running through it like this, but some of the tiger wood I have looks just like this, it also came from Africa as did my mahogany. Either way... its a beautiful box. Very well done.Wizzy
