walnut hollow

I got a whole pickup load of walnut logs a few weeks ago. Most is green but there were a few smaller dead branches. I used a piece tonight to practice hollowing. 2.75" h x 3.5" w. It's very pretty wood.
Briwax finish.

Great job Curt. I really like the form; not too high; just right. And the opening is a nice compliment to the overall contour. Some wood! Congrats!

Thanks everyone.
Chris the opening is 1". That's about the diameter of the big old clunky Sorby Hollower with the round scraper in it. The walls are about 3/16" near the top to 5/16" at the base. The shape is just the result of what was left after getting through the bark.

It is hard to tell without getting close, but it is not too glossy, and very smooth. I really like your finish.
