Buckeye Burl & Zircote Box

Tonight's project...

Buckeye Burl body and Zircote lid. 2 3/4" tall x 2 1/4" diameter. Sanded to 1000, finished with friction polish. I had extra time tonight and a couple of scraps lying around, what's a turner to do? Wink

P.S. That is a natural inclusion at the top.

Nice, Chris. I would not have thought to incude the inclusion in the box. My version would have been shallower, only because I haven't yet developed 'the sight' to see things like this. I like the treatment.

Thanks Rick, I (believe it or not) planned it this way as you don't see alot of boxes with inclusions and Buckeye Burl has some nice inclusions.

You especially don't see inclusions on the rim of boxes, Again pushing the envelope. Nice box Chris, say wahtever happened to the rest of that tree you found before you went to FL.

Chris, unusually handsome box. I'm all for "defects" in wood and an inclusion at the rim of the box is outstanding. Beautiful wood beautifully finished. Your usual good example for us to try to emulate. Congrats!
