Big Leaf Burl and Ebonized Cherry

A lot of inspiration for this form and finial came from a piece Neal Addy posted a while back. The hollow form is Big Leaf Maple burl. The finial and base are Ebonized Cherry. The base was turned from a small cube on a bias. It is 5 1/2 wide X 7 1/4 tall incl base and finial. The Burl has 6 coats of Danish Oil. The chery was ebonized with cabots ebony stain before I knew of some of the other methods recently posted.
