Here is one of my older turnings.
This one was made for friends in Tennessee.
They live a few miles from the Great Smokey Mountains National Park.
The Timber Bamboo was planted by them.
I happened to find two bamboo shoots exactly 20 inches apart to hold the bowl perfectly.
I found this to be a very interesting place to photograph the bowl.
It measures: 20"x 20"x 6" and is made from: Purpleheart, Bubinga,Padauk,Wenge,
Zebrawood and framed in Canarywood.
The finish is hand rubbed Teak oil.
I made this bowl in September 2006.
Good looking piece. I really like the way the teak oil looks on the pieces you've shown us. Also like the bamboo backdrop. Makes for a very interesting picture.
Any chance you could get me a dozen shoots of that bamboo? My wife's been wanting to start a stand for several years. 8-)
