My neighbor across the road gave me 8 nice size maple logs from his firewood pile. Wodd had been down and stacked for 2 years. This piece is from a cutoff of one of the bowl blanks I cut from his gift. This goes to his wife. Spalted maple with walnut acorn finial 3 3/4" by 3". It is odd. He lives on the north side of our hill and has all kinds of maple, oak dogwood and some hickory. I live on the south side of the same hill and not a maple to be found! But I have Walnut, Ash, oak, Hickory and way too much Cedar!.
