This is a slightly different version of what I refer to as a "Grandma's Vase". My previous post 5318 was what I remembered the shape to be, while this one more represents what I feel the shape should be. Slightly longer curve to a slightly shorter neck. About 9 3/4 inches tall and made of Manitoba poplar (aka aspen). Aniline dye and patinating wax.
I really like this one, Bruce. Did you you do complete flutes only on every other one? Or, is that just an illusion of the picture? Matters not, I was just curious as to what I was seeing. 8-)
Thanks. The flutes are all the same. I think the problem is that it's a bit hard to make up the top of some of the flutes because of the darkness of the piece and the photo.
