Tea light triangles

Red oak tea light candle holders. Not a good choice of wood because it chips out badly, but I managed to clean up the chipped edge with a block plane.

I've seen these done with squares several time, but never triangles before. An absolutely fabulous idea. Your execution looks very good as well. What a fun piece to have in a display. Bet they'll draw lots of attention. I'm with the rest in that I may have to steal this idea. 8-)

These were inspired by a piece that Horst Hohoff from Germany posted over on the Sawmill Creek forum back in December of 2006. (Search for Nussecke) His was much larger with a very gentle curve to the legs. I guess it kind of stuck in my mind and I finally decided to give it a try. Sanding the underside of the legs is best done with the lathe OFF. Smile
