After emptying the egg it is submersed in bleach.

Doug,
My inspiration was Kurt Hertzog, I met him at Totally Turning in Albany in 2006 and then we had him demo in Erie where he stayed here with me. He showed me the piercing that he did and I bought his old equipment. Just got around to trying it out. It is a lot of fun and my dentist is saving me the diamond bits that are used for piercing the eggs.

golfr you shot scratch on this one. Did you use regular laundry bleach for the egg?
