Both Sides Now 5257

This is an ash bowl which measures about 10 1/4 inches in diameter. It has been fluted, bleached and sandblasted both inside and out. The next one will have twice as many flutes both inside and out, lined up back to back. Then I may get out the dyes, pigments and waxes.

I like the look, and the sandblasting could create some interesting effects with coloring agents. Looking forward to the dye work.

Nice piece, Bruce. Like the fluting, especially the way you staggered the pattern. I think it is just the right number of flutes; if you double it may take away from the grain pattern. It resembles a clam shell.
