This is an ash bowl which measures about 10 1/2 inches in diameter. The outside has been fluted, lightly bleached and sandblasted while the inside has been left pristine.
What a beautifully shaped bowl. The contrast between the smooth inside grain and the sandblasted, fluted sides, or viewing from the top, that and then the ends of the flutes is remarkable. Another exquisite piece.
Thanks for the comments. Funny thing about the photo: I thought that it leaned a little to the right, so I rotated it one degree to the left. Probably could have used only a fraction of a degree, but I don't think Photoshop allows that. Anyway, the real thing shows no discernible list.

List or not, this is a beautiful piece, Bruce. Just out of curiosity, have you ever considered fluting only the inside of a bowl? Might be an interesting.
BTW, PS does allow fractional rotation tweaks.
Bruce, I've always liked the look of sand-blasted, soft, wood. When I win the lottery I'm gonna buy a HF blast cabinet. You specimen is particularly nice.
