First turning with Alabaster this is a semi translucent natural edge piece that is 7" across by 2 3/4 tall 1/4" thick throughout. Havn't seen this type much out there and as a first bowl I am very pleased with this.
Thanks all, just missed the calendar, wheels I used a 3/4" scraper and mostly a sorby hollowing tool with a 1/4" bit. Sharpened about 8 times for this one. slow going no such thing as hogging out the inside.
I read where these have to be turned VERY slow (50 - 200ish RPMs). That rules out me and my 1442 ever producing one. Just as well, I could never catch up to you anyway!
I wanna say something but everything I want to say has already been said by all of the above... so I just say... Outstanding... Beautiful... Impressive... and Well Done, A truly one of a kind!!!
