Soap Stone Sphere

This is a 4" sphere I turned from soap stone about a year ago. If you haven't turned this stuff, it comes of the piece dusty and cold. Not sure, but I believe it may be the same stuff talcum powder comes from. It also has small mineral deposits that you have to work around that can chip out leaving small pits.

great piece do you need special tools, technique?

It is best to epoxy it to a waist block first because it is very soft. Very easy to turn and polish.
