This bowl was turned from a Water Oak that fell on my shop during Hurricane Katrina. I really don't care to turn Oak but I couldn't resist keeping these logs just because of the circumstances. I allowed the logs to spalt for 1.5 years before I processed them. This one measures 10" x 4,5" and is finished with Friction Polish. Just in time for the 2nd Anniversary of Hurricane Katrina.
Nice rememberance piece. I guess I've never posted my Katrina pieces. I'll try to get them posted in the next couple of days. Again, nice work, Leo. 8)
