This is my design of a pull top. I've made about 50 of them. They're maple and spin really fast.

Hey Junior and RevDoug, I colored it with markers. Next ones with have the winding above the handle with a cap to hold it on whilst traveling.

Hey Chakajo. Thanks for commenting. You are a monster turner so I have no idea why the handle would break. I've turned tons of spindles with pre-drilled holes. You can also drill the hole after with a V shaped jig to center the drillpress bit. Your finials and stem-work are awesome.
