Mag, your box is such a nice shape that I can't help but suggest that you do something with the finial. Its shape really takes away from the box itself. Finials are not easy to make, and when you combine that difficulty with the need to make them "work" with another form, that's tough. I mean my criticism to be constructive. Maybe look at some others have made to see what works and what doesn't?

thanks! i really do appriciate critism, i really don't change things after they are complete. i will most definitly chalk it up to experience and the next time i have a piece that i want to put a finial on i will most definitly take your advice and look around at other designs. again thank you so very much for you comment. javier

I would have to agree with Jim! A WELL DONE Box,the Finial is a little to big for me.
