what is the thickness of the stone, and with the cracks what were the odds of an explosion on the lathe

thanks for your comment! as for the how i can tell you but then i would have to kill you, just kidding! but alabaster is pretty soft so you can use your regular hss tools. drop me a line if you want more detailed information.

the thickness of the walls are around 3/8 i did that because i this was my first stone vessel. as for the "cracks" i was told that they are actually striations so being a newbie to stone i am taking the ladys word for it. and for the odds of an explosion happening i really don't know all i can say is you want to turn it as slow as possible.
