I roughed this one out about two years ago and finally got around to finishing it. It measures about 10 1/4 inches tall by 7 1/8 inches in diameter. Strangely enough, I didn't feel any strong compulsion to bead or flute it. Dyed with black, red, orange and yellow aniline dyes.
Thanks guys.
Jerry, as far as turning a particular shape goes... All I do is turn a cylinder with a diameter slightly bigger than the diameter of the finished piece. Then I'll mark the position of that largest diameter, and the required length of the piece. Then I sneak up on the required curves. Things just seem to fall into place.
