Khaya Mahogany Platter 15 1/2"

I had to turn this with the head turned 45 deg off center because my lathe will only hole up to 16", once I got it down to 15 3/4" I was able to turn it back over the ways and go at it. Finish sanding w/600 grit.
I hope its pleasing to your eyes as it is to my daughter-in-law, she loved it and my wife is jealous. Sorry about the glar in the upright photo, but it does show off the color somewhat.

Great chatoyance in this piece. I've never heard of Khaya Mahogany before, but there's severla species out there. Anyway, you did it justice.
