Beads Vs Flutes

These were two identical ash vases from nearly adjacent spots in the log. Then one, 5239, was beaded while the other, 5240, was fluted. Then both were dyed with yellow aniline dye and treated with black patinating wax. Beads and flutes sure seem to accentuate the grain pattern of the ash differently.
