Very nice looking. I like Maple. Very easy wood to work with and stable.
Only one problem I see. How can you get all the soup out with that indented lip?

Yes the undercut rim gives it a unique look and style. I see myself putting a nice fitting lid on it. But then you would cover up the undercut rim. This is a collectors piece.
