trying my hand at deep vases...these are the first 2 I have done..left one is complete ..right one is still in the works as u can see ..the lean is because of tenon still on it.
Both are cedar 12" high x31/2 at top tapering to 2" at bottom
Fun but a challenge for a beginner especially with a home made rig..learning an making the right tool and cutter to work with

Nice work Bob, both are what I want to try when I get more exoerence on a lathe, my wife say's she'll take care of them for you if you need some place to put them... heheheWizzy

Its been alot of trail and error especially making my own captured system ..just a hint...if u make one use at least 3/4 round stock for the boring bar..1/2" is to light for anything deeper than 4 to 5" chatters alot.
Its been fun learning it..can't say ill ever be expert at it but its fun anyway.
