I did this one out of walnut back in March as a retirment present for a food rep that has called on my facility for 15 years. It is about 1.5 inches wide and 1.75 tall. Finish is 2 coats of BLO with a carnauba wax buffed out on top.
Simple lines, small, the entire outside shape was obviously influenced from a recent reading of Raffin's box on Boxes.
Pretty doggone nice, John, I sure would like to see a picture of it all in one piece so I can get the total effect. I can promise you this, my first box didn't come close to that level of quality.
John, we Raffan fans almost inevitably turn this model, but we, including you, leave the model behind as we shape our own product. Nothing wrong with "copying" the masters. Really nice job.
First successful box. I have a bunch of lidded funnels and some shop boxes. I didn't get a pic of it with the lid on the bottom. So, imagine a straight side down from the lid. No bead or other decoration around the join. That was a mistake. Raffin states to to a bead or feature there. After seeing the reaction from John and his wife, Raffin is right.
