Cigar Pens

Here are some cigar pens I turned last weekend. From left to right are Ebony with satin and friction polish, plastic, Black Palm, plastic, and Ebony with chrome and CA finish. I think I need to paint the tubes on the light colored plastic so that the brass does not show through. What kind of paint should I use, white, silver? I have heard people say to use either.
