Spalted Maple Box

5 x 4.5 spalted maple box with ebonized walnut finial. Still experimenting. This box came from the same chunk of wood as the previous post. I am not crazy about the finial on this one. Your thoughts are appreciated.

Good work on a lovely piece of wood for this box, Jerry.
This finial might work better if the upper 2/3s were a sphere. The bulge in the top of the lid conflicts with the downward curve of the lid. My 2? worth is that this lid might look better shaped like a Russian onion dome (Just my thoughts).
