This is the collaborative bowl that Larry (Yakima Turnings) and I turned last Saturday. We think it's kingwood but not quite sure. Finished with Sanding sealer and the White and Yellow Beall buffs.
Cool bowl, Dan. I like the grain work on this one, good capture. To my knowledge Kingwood is darker, unless this is the sapwood. I'd put a wager on it being Black Limba or maybe a wild line patterened Zebrawood.
I bought this blank from rockler a year ago, and the label tag fell off soon after I got it home. I think you sparked a memory from the day I purchased it. I'm 95% percent sure that it is Black Limba. Thanks for the help!
