Thanks Gil. Cypress is challenging because the rays are real hard and the in between part is real soft. You need a real clean cut to keep from having to sand too much because it will scoop out the between stuff, whatever that is callled.
What are you referring to as rays? I don't see any rays in this one. But rays are often so thin you can't see them from afar. This is an awesome piece. I love the way this crotch has a marble look to it. You did a good job keeping the piths of these branches intact, too. Never turned Cypress.
