square bowl

Salsa bowl with built in drip catcher. A square bowl 6.5"x6.5"x3". The wood was supposed to be 'fiddleback eucalyptus'. I guess it's eucalyptus but there wasn't much fiddleback in it. The dark line is a crack from when the tree was alive, filled with a black resin type dried sap. I bought the wood at Macbeaths in a bin of 'take a chance' things. Cheap but very hard wood to work with. Tung oil finish.

That is pretty cool. You could also just stack chips on the wings as well.
