Cocobolo Bowl

This is the first time I have turned Cocobolo. The bowl is about 10 inches in diameter and is finished with a shellac based friction polish.

Thanks everyone. I was surprised how hot the shavings are when they come off. Yakima, the friction polish is one of those shellac/wax blends that you wipe on all over then friction polish with a rag when the lathe is up to speed. This wood polishes up so nice with sanding that it does not need much finish to make it look great. Chris, I'll get to that burl sometime soon. I now also have some great carob wood to turn. Wink
