Russian olive http://extension.usu.edu/rangeplants/Woody/russianolive.htm is a nuisance tree here in Utah. It grows along ditch banks and in the marshy areas near the Great Salt Lake. The flowers give me horrible hay fever in May and June and the tree isn't pretty at all. But it has great wood.
Looks pretty good from here CF. What's the thickness on it? The beads are nicely placed, but from the photo the grooves look a bit deep. It could be the natural shadows though. What tool did you use for them? The form, grain and orientation looks terrific.
