8" by 2.5" maple. I made a platter from a video that I watched it has a point on the bottom and won't sit flat. I tried piercing for the first time and made a burnt mess, the only bit I had was one that came with the dremel and wasn't of quality. I also have to get thinner on the wings, but the bottom and sides of the bowl are darn thin, thinner than I have done before so a good start. where do I get good bits that cut rather than burn?
Seems unless you you spend the bucks for the 300,000 bpm on the carving systems, youll have burns! Ive tryied several bits on the dremel and most burn. If it doesnt burn, it takes too much out, too quick, and gets away from me (taking out even more)
