Spalted Tamarind

Just a simple open form. No pedestals, lids, finials, runs, hits, or errors. Also no foot, just a flat spot. The rim has a 1/4" undercut lip. Very difficult wood to work with. Extremely dry and nearly rotted, with lots of soft pockets, worm holes, and punky yuck.

Spalted Tamarind. 4-1/4" x 2". Sanded to 600, cussed to 800, and finished with Seal-A-Cell.

I know. That ring went all the way through the blank. Oddly enough, it was the most stable part during cutting. Everything else was punky.
