Teardrop in a Cup

Another small hollow form and a variation on my "Teardrop in a Cup" finial design. It's become a favorite.

Mesquite hollow form with East Indian Rosewood lid/finial. Bowl is 2-1/4"H x 3-1/2"W. Finial is 2-1/2"H. Sanded to 800, finished with Seal-A-Cell.

This lid/finial was actually made for another piece but didn't quite work with it. I turned this small bowl specifically for the purpose of matching the lid. It was a somewhat backward approach, but the experience was interesting.

Thanks, folks. I love these delicate finials but my blow-out rate is probably 25-30%. Gotta improve that.
