Beautiful. I am not usually into carved work, but I really love this. It just seems appropriate to the wood.

Thanks Nappen. This was my first and maybe last carved piece. I wanted to go with a Hawaii theme for this piece of Koa. Rays seemed to foot the bill.

That may be it, It does remind me of the surf somewhat. Waves with ocean spray(despite it being mana rays that is the feeling I get). I am partial to the beach, living on the coast, and we have more rays here than you can shake a stick at.

It took a couple looks, but now I see the Manta Rays. At first I thought is was just an abstract design. It's beautiful.

Love this piece Gary. Showed it a friend last night and he thought it looked cool but then realized they were Rays and was even more impressed. I'm working on my first 2 carved pieces right now and can understand the work involved.
