Design Opportunites

As my recent post stated, I was working hard to finish this bowl for submission to the WR 2007 Calendar. As I was turning the foot, the bowl exploded, resulting in a deep cut to my hand. I had to go to the Emergency Room for stitches.

As I was sitting around the house, nursing my wound, I had a "Eureka!" moment. I was able to salvage the work and the incident created a "design opportunity" which adequately depicts the circumstances surrounding the creation of this piece.

I would like nominate this piece for consideration of the WR 2007 Calendar, for any month which holds a "Friday the 13th."
