Bowl in a bowl

Well, here is my first attempt at a pewter insert in a woodturned bowl. The outside is figured maple about 7" dia. x 2 1/4" tall, quickie tung oil finish.

I think the metal in the wood looks far better than the metal on its own, i can see how this has really opened up new paths for you. Next step metal in wood in metal etc, maybe a cake stand of some sort.

Thanks guys, it does have lots of possibilities, this being one of the more basic ones. I have an idea for a really cool piece, just a matter of figuring out how to pull it off.
