This bowl is 3" high and 8 3/4" in dia. with two coats of BLO so far. I don't know what the wood is, it was brought to Phils house by Hillbilly Red one night during the symposium. Steve do you remember what wood you had?
Red I usually cut my blanks round then I marked this off and cut it in the bandsaw and then turned it.
ebudg I do still have all my fingers. Recently I was turning a small HF and got a catch, the tool came down with my little finger between it and the tool rest. I had a broken little finger. The wood isn't walnut, its stringy and a lighter color until I used the BLO. It also stinks.
Thanks Ken and Toni
Gary stop by and we'll put the coffee pot on. Have you turned that big hunk of cedar? You need to post a picture on this forum of before and after.
