Very nice pens, and I really like the stand as well. My only suggestion would be to make a stand out of a dark wood as well and pu tyour lighter colored pens on it and place your darker ones on this one.
Thanks guys. Good idea on the stand color. I have some black walnut out in the garage that I was going to make jewelery boxes from. That was before the turning bug bit me.
That's a nicely designed display although I agree that a contrast would help the pens pop.
The pens are cool too.
I am curious about the fourth one in from the left. The bulge near the point, how does that fit in the hand? It seems a bit abrupt and possibly uncomfortable for writing. Correct me if I'm wrong.
It depends on how you are used to holding the pen. My wife and I hold pens differently. She likes this one better than the one three from the left (bocote). I prefer the other between these two. The most comfortable are the ones with the gradual bulge like the middle ones. Then, of course, bigger hands and arthritics would prefer the cigar pens. I'm thinking of designing a pen specifically for arthritics. Any suggestions?
The problem with the cigar pens and arthritis sufferers is the weight.
Have you experimented with bigger, smoother bulges on the slim lines?
I may have a picture of one I did that way.
Will try to dig it up and post it.
