Pecan Bowl

9" wide by 3.75" high
The pith makes this bowl pop.
It also made it tricky to turn as it was much softer than the rest of the piece.

Beautiful wood. Is that a bit if warp I see?

Was this turned green? I turn most of mine green. I like the warp. A lot of people like it. Some of mine are so warped that they almost twist. When you have a sapwood/heartwood contrast and center the pith (even if the pith is gone) the warp is symmetrical. This is a nice piece.

It was turned a bit wet.
And yes it did warp some.
The blank was well sealed but started to crack so I had to go for it.
It still sits flat though.
