mesquite urn

4 1/2"h x 7 1/2"w. mesquite urn with turquoise. This was a commissioned piece otherwise it would have had a taller finial, but the customer wanted a small knob.

Very nice. You are calling it an urn. Is it for a pet? Also, how large is the opening? It is un-noticable in the pic. 8)

Thanks Rev. The opening is 3 1/2" I called it an urn, I assumed it was for a pet but turned out it was for a elderly woman. The lady passed away and wanted her ashes devied (sp) up amongst her friends so my customer was one of her friends. Kinda odd I thought, maybe not.

So it's a partial urn. Like you said, kinda odd, but that's ok. I guess if we were all alike it would take all the fun out of it. 8)

Beautifully done. I can understand why you would want to do a finial but the way the knob repeats the shape of the body is also very appealing.

Like Wheels said, the turquoise looks like a lightning flash. Really looks good with that mesquite too. I also have to admit thats the first time I've ever heard of a partial urn or divying up the remains. But you did a beautiful job and it's someting your customer will cherish.
