Walnut box

Walnut box, 2 5/8" x 2 1/2". Friction polish finish. I tried to do some chatter on the inside that didn't work out so I recut the recess and enbedded a small chinese coin in the inside of the lid.

What a great idea. I've never thought about embedding something on the inside of the lid. Only stones on the outside. Very nice!

Chris, Neat box. Clean lines. It looks like there is no finish around the lid?. Is that for a reason or do I need better glasses?!

Tom, there is a very light coat of finish on the lid, I was going for a "turner's fit" on the join so I had to hand rub the finish on as not to affect the already tight fit. I'll probably add a coat of wax now that it has soaked in & dried.
