A bowl from a piece of firewood rescued from my parents front porch. Turned on the shopsmith.
2 1/2 tall
3 1/4 across
walls are pretty thin

My guess is it is Pecan, I have had lots of spalted Pecan and it looks very much like this. Also the area of the country your in would re-enforce my belief.

Looks good Chris, good form, nice figure. I would have liked a bit more rounding into a small foot, but that will come. A round bottom with a small foot will lift the piece off the table and make it appear to float off the surface. Keep it up! Thumbs Up!
