I didn't want to take any chances with this one. I glued up a staved cylinder from ash, mounted it on the late and bored from both ends with a forstner bit in the tailstock. I then turned some walnut end caps and glued them on and then mounted the whole thing to turn it round. I sliced it in half on the band saw, cleaned up the edges and put on hinges and a clasp to make SURE it didn't get "folded" in transit. Jerry said it arrived safe.
Pretty darn cool, a great goblet and an equally nice box, that's some deal Jerry got there Bob. I would be very interested in a tutorial for WR on how you made the box if you're interested...bet a lot of folks would be interested, that's a slick container. Great work.
